In order to provide a certain reference for the reform of China’s power system, we summarized the basic situation of various levels of power companies in the United States, including the North American Electric Power Reliability Corporation (NERC, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the regional transmission organization (LS0/RTO), and Taking Pennsylvania, New Jersey-Maryland (PJM) and Central Independent Operators (MISO) as representatives, they summarized in detail the organizational structure and departmental responsibilities of power companies at all levels, and finally pointed out that China’s power market reform needs to pay attention to legislation and establish A fair and transparent electricity sales supervision and information disclosure system, as well as a complete data and information sharing mechanism of electricity retailer-power grid-transaction center, provide users with more choices.
