The Ethiopian African Union Conference Center project is located in an 11.3 hectare site in the Cocos District, south of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, next to the current AU seat. The project consists of a large conference hall, office building, podium and outdoor amphitheater, plaza, helipad, parking lot, culvert, etc. It covers a total area of 89,019 square meters and a construction area of 49,432 square meters. The project is an important one of the eight measures for cooperation with Africa announced by President Hu Jintao during the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Forum. It is one of the largest aid projects implemented by the Chinese government to Africa in recent years. It is of great political significance. After completion, the African Union Conference Center will become an extremely influential landmark in the entire African region.
